Master of Ceremony

We’ve often been asked: “Do you really need a master of ceremonies—and why?”

At Platinum Party Events Entertainment, we say: “Yes!”

Why? Because your master of ceremonies provides all the help you need to make your wedding day run as smoothly as possible, while also acting as a host to your family, friends, and guests and making sure they feel comfortable on your special day!

While people can be concerned about a master of ceremonies being obnoxious, talking way too much, and taking over the party, at Platinum Party Events we understand that your wedding reception is about you. Laurie, our master of ceremonies, is a trained entertainer who will ensure your reception runs smoothly: acting as the director and producer—not the star!—of your event to ensure that everyone on your wedding day knows what to do and when to do it.

Hours of planning go into each and every one of our events to ensure that you, your family, and your guests have an amazing party—and the best wedding ever!

Your master of ceremonies will:

  • Perform Introductions: Your master of ceremonies will introduce the guests of honor at your wedding reception;
  • Direct Guests: Your master of ceremonies will direct your guests, particularly VIP guests, to their appropriate locations with the help of your ushers and groomsmen;
  • Introduce Toasts: Your master of ceremonies will introduce the people scheduled to make formal toasts at your reception;
  • Enforce Timelines: Your master of ceremonies will ensure your reception progresses in a timely and efficient manner based on the schedule that you prepare with us prior to your wedding day. Your master of ceremonies will ensure the cutting of your cake, the opening and closing of the bar, your formal dances, the garter and bouquet toss, and the final dance all happen right on time;
  • Add that “Wow!” Factor: Your master of ceremonies can work with you to add personalized touches to your wedding reception—and create memories to last a lifetime! Tell your Love Story, spend your first dance Dancing on a Cloud, or treat your guests to a photo montage where they can watch the happy couple grow up right before their eyes! Photo montages can be created in multiple themes and incorporate the music of your choice. These, along with many other personalized add-on options, can make your wedding day uniquely you!


Platinum Party Events Entertainment is committed to realizing your unique vision of your unique wedding day. We’ll meet with you several times to discuss that vision, but also offer 24/7 tools like our online event planner, to make planning your perfect day even easier. With your username and password in hand, you can sign on to your own personal wedding page 24/7 and input any information into the planner. It’ll notify us immediately, and we can incorporate your latest changes into your personalized timeline and schedule: our tool for making sure that your day goes exactly that way you want. What’s more, Platinum Party Events Entertainment is always available to hear any input or feedback on how we can help make your special day even better!

Once a preliminary timeline is in place, we’ll review it for anything that might need clarification or discussion in more detail, and set up a final meeting to turn that preliminary timeline into a finalized schedule that realizes your vision of your wedding day. That final timeline goes to any other vendors, including photographers, videographers, and your venue, to make absolutely certain that everyone at your wedding will be working together to realize every detail of your once-in-a-lifetime event.

As your Hudson Valley DJ Master of Ceremony, I will be available to assist the bride and groom throughout the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. In addition, I will greet and speak with your guests throughout the event, to ensure they feel welcome and comfortable and are having a good time. With my years of experience in the wedding industry and background training in wedding planning, I will effectively and efficiently coordinate with the vendors who are part of your day, including the banquet manager, wedding planner/day-of coordinator, photographer/videographer, florist—and even the wait staff if necessary–so you don’t have to worry about anything except getting married and having a great time celebrating with your friends and family!
